  1. Under a Trump-GOP, It may be up to the states to defend the Social Safety Net (Medicare, Medicaid, ACA, Social Security, minimal m wage), fair taxation, affordable education. It may also be up to the states to defend EPA, ESA, wildlife, public land.

Government is essentially about distribution of resources, wealth, and income. Probably the best government is a fair balance of socialism and capitalism. The tensions are created in a struggle for balance. The GOP (capitalists) in America hate the Social Safety Net of Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security, and moves toward subsidized or universal healthcare (like ACA/Obamacare), minimum wage, both because they resent any taxes on them and believe in trickle down economics and unfettered capitalism. The rich don’t need the Social Safety Net. Corporations and the rich want to compensate the lower classes only the minimum government and competition forces them to do so. The republicans also hate anything getting in the way of utilizing resources, production, and profit, such as EPA, ESA, Clean Power Act, Wilderness Act, protection of public land for the public, and some even resent pristine places being protected. Capitalism unfettered, and trickle down is their basis tenet. Many are devotees of Ayn Rand, such as Paul Ryan.
