Shock to the System

I know it’s an inconvenience to have to adapt to unforeseen situations by staying home and changing our travel plans, revising our shopping lists or thinking about how our everyday actions effect others. Heck, this is America and we’re human beings, after all! No one has the right to tell us how we should live our lives!

Unfortunately people, it’s high time we adopt a radically different outlook if we, as a species, are going to live to see the end of the century. Instead of balking at a measly little two week respite, we need to start thinking about what we’re willing to do to head off the coming climate chaos that will make this current pandemic seem like a fly speck in comparison.

I hope everyone had fun while it lasted, because soon there will be no more flying off to distant corners of the globe at the drop of a hat. The shopping centers won’t be packed with wall to wall goods stacked from floor to thirty-foot ceiling.

Humans have had a good run, but wave crested, and is rapidly receding. Time to abandon the sand castle before an even bigger wave washes all sign of it far out to sea…
