Traeger, a golden retriever, was caught in a wolf trap for about 90 minutes in January. The trap was illegally placed on Trail Creek Road above Mackay. He has recovered from his injuries.

    Michelle Stennett of Ketchum sits with her golden retriever Traeger. The dog was caught in a wolf trap and Stennett suffered injuries when she tried to get him out of the trap. The unmarked trap was on Trail Creek Road above Mackay. The location and absence of trapper identification are both violations of Idaho law.

      The bright sun along Trail Creek Road above Mackay drew three women and a dog out for an afternoon hike on Jan. 2, but the chilly day turned cold after the dog was caught in a wolf trap for about 90 minutes…
